This week's challenge is an "Anything Goes" challenge so get out your creativity and get started.

Remember this challenge is strictly scrapbook layouts, no cards please, and you have to use stamps on your layouts. They don't have to be Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co stamps but if you do use them you will be entered twice for a chance to win.

This layout is in memory of our Canadian songstress Rita MacNeil who passed away suddenly last month.  I used the Floral Tea stamp set for this layout.

I did this layout for Samantha - the oldest daughter where our puppy Willow went to live.  These are some of the last couple of litters of labradoodles and golden doodles that they had.  Couldn't think of a better place to relax and chill out.

Mark's Finest Papers a Heindrich Co Scrapbook Challenge 16 - JOY, JOY

This weekend is Memorial Day weekend here in the US so our challenge is in honor of all the men and women who proudly served our country. The challenge is to use red, white and blue or something patriotic on your layout.

Here is my entry - JOY, JOY using the Floral Tea and Spring Joy Stamp Sets. Being a Canadian we do not celebrate Memorial Day but I did use the color theme throughout my page of my friend Cathy and her granddaughter Emma.
It's so nice to  have so many subjects at hand to scrap with and since Cathy has 4 granddaughters and takes tons of pics I get to use them and make scrapbooks for her girls.

Happy Mother's Day Canvas for Jen

Here is a canvas I made for Adrian's friend Cory's children to give their mom for Mother's Day.  It's 16 x 20, painted and I've used co-ordinating scrapbook papers and bingo tickets and other embellishments with photos of the children, added a few buttons for an accent. The tag on the left that says "Noteworthy" has a verse on it - "the words we say to our children become their inner thoughts" and the tag on the right has the children's names on it and the year 2012. I printed the photos in sepia in a 3 x 4 size to fit on the bingo tickets.

Hat Lady - A Touch of Gold Color Combos challenge
242- here is the new color challenge over at http://colorcombosgalore.ning.com/forum/topics/color-combo-challenge-242

Here is my take on the challenge. This is a photo of Rita MacNeil, a Canadian Songbird, famous for the hats she wore.  She was a wonderful singer and person and we just lost her last month so thought this color combo suited this picture of her.

For inspiration I used photo 1 - the argyle pattern, photo 2 - fancy borders and photo 4 the cluster of 3 flowers and leaves and the rounded edges.  The hat and flowers are not exactly rub-ons but similar and are clear and gold trim and I used gold beading all over.  There is a single gold bead on seleted black diamond on the background paper but not sure if you can really see them in the photo.

here is my entry for this week

I used stamps from Mark's Dogwood Blossoms stamp set, a grunge flourish, heart and butterfly and LOVE letters that I painted with acrylic paints, a Tim Holtz metal clock face that I antiqued with blue storm paint, and a Tim Holtz little metal charm that I painted as well.  The hydrangea flowers were made with a Martha Stewart flower punch in 2 sizes.  I inked the edges of each petal and used a glitter marker for the gold centres on the big flower and gems on the smaller ones and bling leaves, musical canvas ribbon and some lace ribbon as well. Finally a resin corner marker antiqued with the blue storm.
